Where rail and sea meet, in Belgium almost along the entire coast from Knokke till De Panne. This line is the last remain of a once dense interurban tramway network throughout the country and exploited by the NMVB (Nationale Maatschappij van Buurtspoorwegen) or SNCV (société Nationale Chemin de fer Vicinaux) - National company of local railways. The Dutch (Flemish) part of that company was renamed: De Lijn and beside the route along the coast they operated the city tramway systems of Gent and Antwerp. The French part belongs to the TEC; the only trams left are running in and around Charleroi.
