From this perspective I was able to capture the reflection of the waterfall in some rock puddles out in front of me.

Indian Run Overlook - Shenandoah National Park, Virginia

Smoke from hundreds of wildfires raging across Canada engulfed the eastern United States earlier this month, but as the smoke that was overhead here started dissipating recently, it created some nice sunrises & sunsets.

Dolly Sods Wilderness, West Virginia

When autumn comes to this high country the heath barrens turn to a beautiful fiery red.

Dolly Sods is a rocky, high-altitude plateau with sweeping vistas and lifeforms normally found much farther north in Canada. The distinctive landscape of "the Sods" is characterized by stunted (“flagged”) trees, wind-carved boulders, heath barrens, grassy meadows created in the last century by logging and fires, and sphagnum bogs that are much older.
