My new (to me) lens arrives! I've always wanted a f1.2 lens and as Nikon don't do a 85/1.2 I purchased their 50mm which is stil sold today but is pretty much the same lens that was released in the 70s. It's said to be the sharpest Nikon lens at f2 but I wanted to try wide open. It wasn't the best shoot to try it out on.. a moving baby target in low light but I was keen to try anyway! Not the best photo ever but the first example.

Thanks Natasha for bailing me out tonight after a cancellation. I got to try the new lens wide open and pretty pleased even if it is hard to focus!
Quick LR edit.. did the whole shoot with ambient light at f1.2 It was pitch black by the end.

Nikkor 50/1.2 AIS @f1.2, Ambient light only. No textures added, all as shot. High ISO..next time i'll use some subtle flash to boost light levels but wanted to see what the lens can do.
