I have spent the last weekend and part of the last week in the mountains. Kids are home from school because of the "Virus" and I was unemployed ('till this monday).
No hiking, but I spent a lot of time playing with my son and the kids of my friends and giving ski lessons (for free).
I have spent all the summers of my youth playing in the big grassland facing these old, abandoned buildings (an old hotel for the youth), and watching now the kids playing here is a big pleasure for me and my friends.
On Sunday we celebrated the end of this vacation by building this igloo.

I know it will come a time when I will not be able to buy a car manufactured in my country anymore. FCA Factories in Italy will soon produce only luxury brands and models.
The Fiat car I was going to buy, that should be an affordable model, is built in Turks, and engineered from a chassis developed for South America and China: the Fiat Tipo.

The era of Italian working class driving great, affordable cars made in their own country is going to end.

In the meantime, After three Fiat Punto, a Fiat Uno, a Fiat Tipo (the 1990s one), a Fiat 127, a Fiat 126, a Fiat 124 Sport, a Alfa Romeo Alfetta, a Lancia Delta HF turbo (all my cars, plus the cars of my father, of my Grandfathers and of my uncles) I enjoy this last girl, a used, 2015, Alfa Romeo Giulietta.

Stresa. Italy.

One of the many boats for tourists leave the harbour of the small town on the shore of the big lake called Verbano, or Lago Maggiore.
In the background the first summits of the Alps and the small Borromeo Island.
Had a fine day with my family and some friends travelling by train and boats around this area, where I had a lot of fine hikes and motorbike rides in the past.

A month ago, I spent the weekend with my family on the sea. We visited a couple of friends of ours, whose run a restaurant right over the sea, on a small series of cliffs: a truly beautiful place! The beginning of autumn has been really warm here, too warm. Now that warm air has collided with the cold one coming from the Northern Atlantic Ocean, and General Winter broke through with extreme violence. A series of furious rainstorms has devastated large areas of Italy, killing people and destroying roads and villages. Thanks to God the rain was snow over a certain elevation, otherwise the list of damages and victims might have been even larger.
The restaurant of my friends has been no exception, the waves were high and the fury of the sea made a lot of damages. No time for tears, they are already at work.... it is time to sail, once again...
