Kaptain Dyre was built as the steam tug "Neptune" at the TH Walker shipyard in Dordrecht in the Netherlands in 1893. The boat was 64.7 feet long and 14 feet wide. In 1916 the boat came to Norway and was bought by Bjaalands Lægterkompani A/S in Skien and was named Skjelsvik . Renamed in 1919 to Roland . Converted in 1948 from steam to diesel engine by Captain Oscar E. Pedersen in Skien. (Wiki Strinda).
