Little Freddie King was born in Mississippi but has lived in New Orleans since 1954 (when he was 14). This was his first visit to the UK, on the way to a Blues Festival in Mijas, Spain. He was accompanied by his regular drummer “Wacko” Wade and two Ain’t Nothing but… regulars - "West" Weston (of his own Bluesonics and a regular performer with Big Joe Louis) and Paul King (of Jump 66). I photographed King at the 2005 French Quarter Festival in 2005 (warning: the images are of very poor quality):
