To be sure, any smooth body of water with reeds or pilings or dock lines in or near it can provide hours of delight for an obsessive like me. But nothing comes close to my fascination with what happens when you have ice in the water and it's the golden hour. Instead of a solid object's simple reflection, or one altered only by disturbance to the water, ice paints its reflection with the light passing through it. The reflected image is usually more beautiful than the thing itself.

(BTW, the name has a double meaning. Yes, it could be argued that I have an ice fetish. But it's also my way of teasing all the people who find my pictures--not at all what they were expecting--when they search phrases like "girls in waders." Ha!)
