This image was captured during our workshop last week out at Reflection Canyon. It's a long hike out there and for some participants this was their first experience backpacking. Definitely a great destination for your first time!
This panoramic was stitched together from around 6 vertical images. We started taking foreground shots in the blue hour and continued into the night hours. The water was very calm at Blue Hour but as we neared astronomical twilight, the wind started picking up. After it got completely dark the stars became blurry streaks as they reflected in the wind-blown water. So I was glad we took the blue hour shots with the added bonus of the nice glow on the background cliffs! The sky was stacked from several different high ISO exposures for additional noise reduction.
