Most orange cats develop freckles on their nose and eye rims as they age. For instance, Mack had no freckles when he was a kitten and now he's covered in freckles. Our hospital cat, Alexander Hamilton, is sort of an exception. He's had one freckle on the left side of his nose since he was a kitten. He's now almost 5 and still only has the one freckle.
I'm posting two photos of Alex this week - this one taken on Tuesday and one of him as a kitten that I love.

All week long I've been trying to get a photo of one of my cats next to a window with natural light falling on them. I wanted a Vermeer inspired photo. My cats didn't cooperate so here's my friend's cat, Beau. She was away this week so I went over several days to spend some time with her two cats. They have a beautiful sunroom and I loved how Beau looked surrounded by windows and natural light.

Mack is loving life. No blue e-collar and he can go outside. I went outside with him on Monday, the eclipse day, and we found green grass and yellow flowers. I love Mack's ginger coloring against green.

This week for Happy Caturday we're posting photos of cats who were with us when the group formed in April 2016 but who have since departed. Here's Jimmy with his brother Mack in the background. I never posted this photo because I had so many other better photos. Now I look at it and I'm filled with love for this little cat.
I have a very good life and I'm truly content but I have to admit that since August 2022, there has been a little less sweetness in it.
