Ok, so yeah, I had this idea. I was pretty nervous about it. As soon as I saw the bridge (about 100 ft over the rainforest), I knew I wanted to do a running fedora shot. The thing is, I also knew I had one shot at it. The wind was strong enough and the bridge narrow enough that I knew I would lose my precious lid.
Although not technically a selfie, I did show my friend Jim exactly what I wanted. We did 3 runthroughs before the show. He performed admirably despite my neurotic demands.

I know it's been a long time since I've posted anything, but I've been busy taking photos the entire time. Now that the weather is getting a bit too cold for most insects, I've turned my efforts to editing. It's probably going to take a while because I've accumulated tens of thousands of photos. Obviously, only a fraction are keepers, but selecting and editing the best will still be time consuming.
This guy is one of my favorite species. They were pretty common a couple months ago, but I haven't seen any for a while. I've probably got better mystaceus pictures, so I'll post more after editing.

Momentos únicos. A enseñarme, que no solo los sueños son bonitos. Que se puede llegar a vivir de las esperanzas. De los recuerdos. Del pasado. De pensar en el futuro. De vivir el ahora, el presente. A pensar en todas esas personas que han marcado un antes, y un después en tu vida. Por mucho que se hayan ido con el viento. Por apreciar cada lagrima. Por muy tonta que haya sido. Porque cada rosa, ha sido más que una manera de expresarte. Porque yo no te pienso decir te quiero, sin un acto. Un acto que me haga pensar en lo que he sentido. Sentir como se te hace un nudo en la garganta, y unas pequeñas cosquillitas en la barriga. Porque para mí, escribir esto no es fácil. Es saber pensar con el corazón. Más allá de la sabiduría. Todos sabemos que te quiero.
