I remember this day in the Hoh quite well, particularly how heavy it was raining. Even under the canopy of the forest, everything was soaked within a few minutes of having gotten out of the car. The careful application of an umbrella (things even got soaked under that though) along with a towel helped make sure that none of my cameras were too affected by the saturated atmosphere - don't worry Matt I took especially good care of the Fuji.
I like being out in the rain, especially when it is coupled with being in a forest like this. Though I also admit, I really like going downtown on rainy days too and watching life scramble by through weather. I have always found it a bit silly that people who choose to live in the Northwest, where it rains six months of the year, complain about it. Ah well, odds are none of them have ever wandered through a rain forest while it is raining and understood not just the significance of that weather, but the beauty of it too.
I wanted to do a self-portrait amongst the trees that day, this is one of two of them.
