One of the primary goals of this year's 52 weeks with Jasper is to utilize the project to help ease him into his new city life. Since our move last June, he still has a lot of nervous energy being around so many pedestrians, cars, noise, and other dogs especially, and will bark out of fear. Our plan is to devote some extra time alone with him and hopefully help to desensitize him gradually over the year. So, you will probably see a lot of pictures of him around various parts of the city this year.

January has been a pretty wet month and we haven't been able to work with Jasper as much as we'd like. We made very little progress and he's still quite uneasy whenever outside, but we did notice that he's much better when there's two of us and he walks in between us...maybe he just feels more safe that way.

I missed this challenge last year and have been wanting to give it a try. Shooting blind proved to be much more challenging as I was forced to let go of certain controls and expectations...most turned out to be useless garbage, but it was still a lot of fun. This particular shot was one of the last I took--Jasper was definitely more curious and engaged when I had my camera lowered away from my face, but also somewhat confused as to what we were doing. :)
