The first day in Queenstown was a rainy day. After battled muddy road in Moke Lake we ended up in Wilson Bay again in late afternoon.

Glenorchy is a small settlement nestled in spectacular scenery at the northern end of Lake Wakatipu in Otago on New Zealand's south Island. It is approximately 45 kilometres by road or boat from Queenstown, the nearest large town.
Glenorchy is a popular tourist spot, close to many tramping tracks. It lies near the borders of Mount Aspiring National Park and Fiordland National Park. The local scenery received worldwide attention when it was used as one of the settings in the first of Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings films. The scene where Boromir was slain and leant near a tree, Lothlórien and Orthanc were a few that were shot in Paradise. Vertical Limit and X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian were also filmed in the area.
It was the best sunset we had in our trip.

There is an unforgettable experience behind this photos. We(two photographers and I) went to this location at 4:30am after hiking 20 minutes. When I took the tripod which I took from our car I found that it was a wrong one which belongs to another photographer. I could not use it on my camera. I felt very sad and almost gave up. My fellow friends encouraged me to go back to exchange the tripod. I decided to take this chance and hiked 40 minutes back to parking lot and got my own tripod. I missed about 40 minutes for star trail but still managed to get this 24 minutes' star trail.

很喜欢新西兰的那一组，拍得很用心，清冷得不似人间，非常美。让我想起之前有个电影《钢琴课》，编剧在阐述中说，海边的礁石，山上的草，都是情节，都是有故事的叙述。这些照片给我就是这种感受。冷静的，忧郁的，凄美的，但在貌似平静的土地、水和冰川之下，潜伏着情感和不可预知的变故。
