This year's winter solstice on Tuesday falls on the same day as a full lunar eclipse for the first time in 456 years.
The rare, 72-minute lunar eclipse — when the sun, the Earth and the moon align — began in the early morning hours on Dec. 21 in North America, and cast an amber glow on snowy landscapes.
Taken on 3:59am EST. It was lucky to have this chance to see it. It was the only day the sky was clear during the night. Before and after the sky was cloudy.

冬至的月亮让你拍的如梦如幻,你赋予它太多的色彩,太多的立体感,让冷宫中的玉兔不再感到孤独,不再寒冷。456年等到的这一拍,太美,太妙,太让人神往。

Yesterday was 2010-10-10. It was a beautiful day to watch fall color. I am unable to travel far and walk much because of foot fracture recovery. But I still managed to take some photos nearby.
