User / Roaming the World / A Lunar Eclipse Like No Other in 456 Years
882 items
This year's winter solstice on Tuesday falls on the same day as a full lunar eclipse for the first time in 456 years.

The rare, 72-minute lunar eclipse — when the sun, the Earth and the moon align — began in the early morning hours on Dec. 21 in North America, and cast an amber glow on snowy landscapes.

Taken on 3:59am EST. It was lucky to have this chance to see it. It was the only day the sky was clear during the night. Before and after the sky was cloudy.
