Waves crash on the cliff below the village of Ponta Delgada on the Island of Flores in the Azores. This view is from the Port looking southeast and most of the small village is above the cliffs to the right. The low hanging clouds persisted all morning and into the early afternoon on the east coast of the Island and even longer in the highlands.

Agapanthus africanus grows along the edge of the airport in Santa Crus das Flores in the Azores. The flower, also called an African Lily or Lily of the Nile, is native to Africa but was introduced to the Azores. Now naturalized to the Islands, it is a common sight especially as borders along roads and rock walls.

This view looks down on a stock tank that sits above Ponta do Albernaz on the northwest tip of Flores Island in the Azores. A road can been seen as it runs near the stock tank and heads uphill towards, but doesn’t reach, Morro Alto, the highest point on the Island.
