After driving around the large forests for a few evenings I started to recognize an Elk habitat (At least this is where they are visible). During summer time they often start being active after sunset. Luckily the sun goes down around 11 PM, which provides me with the opportunity to photograph until very late.

Unfortunately most Elk become active after sunset. This means that the lighting conditions are almost always very challenging ( ISO 5000/ 1/30 sec). This doesn’t mean I’m not enjoying these magnificent mammals. Elk are not as shy as Roe Deer or Red Deer, and certainly not as agile. This means I had plenty of time to observe and capture this stunning bull.

Today we moved to a different part of Sweden, and I hope I will meet some other Elk in this area.
