View up the alpine valley at Les Contamines, Rhone French Alps.

I walked along the river bank till the middle distance where the darker range is, from there I traversed the steep slope on the left to the top of the ridge seen top left of the image. Right on the skyline near to the edge of the frame is the mountain refuge seen in the previous post. Took at least two hours to get there, maybe nearer three....lol! but what a view....breathtaking!

Italy lies just over the other side of the snow covered mountains in the distance.
