This image was nearly titled "Welcome Home Old Friend," but due to everything this car my father bought new has been through, I found this title more appropriate. Having gotten a piss poor paint job in the 80's, abandoned for 8 years in a damp open air garage, sat out in the weather for nearly two years while a f#&k who called himself a mechanic rebuilt the engine and being nearly totaled in 2009, it has finally come full circle. My mom said "I don't think you could get any closer to what it looked like when it rolled off the showroom floor."

The Derelicts Of Morehead, Kentucky 4 of 6.

A month later we returned to the unusual car junk yard outside Morehead, Kentucky in the Daniel Boone National Forest and the first car I went to was this '60 Cadillac. A beautiful car, if I had the money and room I would have bought this beauty and restored it. As near as I can tell it was running as early as 2004, or that is the last time the license was renewed. Follow the geotag, I found out it's for sale.

1962 Impala

I'm going to admit, this area I'm going to have return to in the future. As we drove from the north into town there was a massive abandoned manufacturing complex that was every bit a mile long. Then a few miles down the road, blam, this hit you. A 1962 Impala suspended in air, under it a old Charlstown Motel sign and there is no motel and it's all next to two passenger train cars and a caboose turned into diner. In the parking lot sat a very old and somewhat decaying Budwiser delivery truck and nearby there was an beyond totaled 80's Camaro sitting on a stack of concrete pipes. You really just stood there and said to yourself "WTF?" I'm not sure about any of the rest of you but I surely could find better things to do with that 1962 Chevrolet Impala. It's almost as retarted as putting 1960 Cadillac Deville above the entrance to a dining establishment. Nonetheless it does make for a cool shot though.

The Derilicts Of Morehead, Kentucky 3 of 6.

Just south of Morehead in the Daniel Boone National Forest we came across this sad sight about a mile from Cave Run Lake in Eastern Kentucky. To our amazement there were two Ford Mustang Mach 1 Fastbacks in a horse pen that was obviously overgrazed. The red Mustang looked to be in restorative shape, where from our vantage point, there was little, if any rust and the body looked undamaged. A classic car and a horse that neither should be in the conditions they were in.
