Being the second tallest (Trump) and tallest (Willis) buildings in Chicago, these two towers rise high above the the Chicago Skyline. The Willis tower is the tallest building in the United States, and seventh tallest in the world.

It is really cool to look down upon the 8th tallest building in Chicago. At 66 stories, 900 North Michigan Ave is the 26th tallest building in the US and 86th tallest building in the world. The tower is mostly residences with The Four Seasons Hotel occupying floors 32 - 46 and a parking garage and retail shops on the lower floors which includes Bloomingdales. Interestingly when we first arrived there was a wedding shoot going on at the mid level platform.

Walking south on Michigan Ave. I heard a woman say, "Oh, my. I think I'm going to get sick." Then another woman say, "Disgusting." People in front of me were gawking to my left. Turning, I see two young ladies, dressed in bride dresses being photographed on the median in the center of Michigan Ave. If it was a show it was an impressive one as they kissed, they dipped and they held each other close. Passersby stopped and stared, cars stopped as drivers and passengers alike stared or got out their picture phones and the onlookers on the sidewalks pulled out their cameras. It was one of the most interesting random events I've ever seen, not because of the photo shoot, but how everyone reacted to it, only in Chicago.

After a weekend trip to Chicago for my other half's birthday, things can finally slow down enough for some flickrtime. Having not been to the city since well before I got my first DSLR, not only I was more than excited to use one for the first time in the windy city but I was really excited to use my 9mm wide angle lens. This shot if from a platform along the Chicago River about 30 ft. below street level, the tower to the right is the Trump Tower, the 2nd highest building in Chicago and the 11th tallest in the world. Even when I'm frustrated with how crowded the city can be, like this time, I'm always in awe of it's beauty at night and miss being a part of it.
