This self portrait of sorts was shot for my final image submitted to the 2009 Capture Cincinnati contest that concluded in Sept. for our group Club Blatz and it's honorary friends as well. The group led the contest with 126 members, 4360 photos and a whopping 679,000 votes cast, over 1/4th of the total votes. Oddly my camera completely failed right before this session so my dear Lisa let me borrow hers. Below is my complete description from the contest posting.

As this year’s Capture Cincinnati comes to end I would like to thank everyone who took the time to vote on my images and those who joined Club Blatz. I would like to also take the time to thank the admins at Pediment Books as well as the Cincinnati Enquirer, without either of these entities this contest could not have been possible. However, Capture Cincinnati is more than a contest, no matter if you live in Milford or Aurora, Hamilton or Rabbit Hash it has brought a community together. Thanks to Capture Cincinnati, we have built lasting friendships, we have met some wonderful people and we have been driven to take a look at our city and it’s surroundings, to look inside the nooks and crannies and bring out what makes it both beautiful and unique. I have seen so many wonderful compositions by so many talented photographers it is simply mind-boggling and I would like to thank all of you for letting me have a look at your work. Last year, I quoted an email that I had received that said “this wasn’t the end, only the beginning,” and how true those words were, because now it is the continuation. I wish you good luck and remember, stay thirsty my friends.
