Ok, sometimes when you go on a trip you run across some unexpected tourist activities. This one here was ours. After spending an evening in a motel off I-59 in Ft. Payne, Alabama we began our trip through town in route to The Little River Canyon National Preserve to discover that Ft. Payne is the hometown of country music supergroup Alabama and in downtown were these wonderful bronze statues of the band in The Ft. Payne City Park.

Little River Falls is where the Little River begins a 45 ft. decent into the Little River Canyon, a National Preserve in Northeast Alabama. Beginning at 1,900 ft. above sea level the Little River is one of the nation's longest rivers that forms and flows for the most of its length on top of a mountain. If you notice the deep blue/green color of the plunge pool, the Little River has few potential pollution sources and the entire river has this unique color throughout it's decent.

Along the Canyon Rim Drive in Little River Canyon National Preserve in Alabama these sandstone boulders were resting along the ridge line. The colors on these boulders were captivating ranging from a deep red and bright pink to a light green and a warm yellow.
