This passed weekend Lisa and I drove to Eastern Kentucky on a little road trip, along the way we stopped by Tudors Biscuit World (Yum) in Grayson, then Laural Gorge (got directions to 3 waterfalls I didn't know existed), Broke Leg Falls (doesn't look any better) and then there was Swamp Valley along US 460. This roadside attraction I have passed many a time on the way to Broke Leg Falls, but the place looked a little sketchy and there's never any cars parked there, so I've never got the nerve to stop by. This time though there were several cars parked there and kids playing around the buildings so we decided to stop by and boy was it worth it. The place is a treasure trove of antiques and oddities, established in 1954 by a husband and wife, for 2 dollars you can shoot to your hearts content. My favorite subject was this turn of the 20th century doll who was sitting in a small rocking chair. For those of you who don't know, I just LOVE creepy looking dolls and this is the creepiest I've ever seen.

Trappped in a Darth Vader carrying case for 20 years, Gonk Droid has been waiting for years to get released from his confinement. Apparently putting him in the hands of the Jawas wasn't the best idea and he decided to make a quick exit.
Ok, for those of you who don't know I've been searching for a vintage Star Wars Power Droid action figure for some time now. I came home yesterday and my neighbor, out of the blue asked me if I would be interested in buying some Star Wars figures that he had in a Darth Vader Action Figure Carrying Case and to my amazement he had a Power Droid for sale. I couldn't resist it and I purchased it, so for a little fun I decided to go outside to shoot a scene with my latest toy, which looks like it's going to turn into a little adventure.
