Hahahaha! This playful fellow was an absolute ham for the camera! One of the most enjoyable experiences I've ever had photographing an animal and he was into it too. Photo after photo after photo! At one point this lorikeet was chewing on the camera lens. Taken at the Cincinnati Zoo. Capture Cincinnati submission 2008.

Self portrait
Sharon Woods

This was my final submission to the 2008 Capture Cincinnati contest. The original description, most of which is lost, thanks all the new friends I had made and everyone who had voted on my pictures. To my surprise part of my description had been selected by the Capture Cincinnati powers that be to be showcased in the forward of that years book. Below is what was printed.

...You all inspired me to go outside my visionary boundaries. I feel lucky to have met a wonderful group of great photographers and to view a lot of incredible work. I find it incredible how Capture Cincinnati brought this community together. We have shared many laughs. We have been concerned for one another when chaos strikes our homes. That is pretty awesome. As it was said in an email I received, "This is not the end, only the beginning."

Oddly, it would be a couple days after getting the book before I realized they had quoted me in it.
