Located in Central Ohio, myself and good friend Adam Thompson met up with good friend Jeff Burcher for a day of exploration. While waiting for Jeff, who was waiting for us in a different lot, Adam and I headed down to Cedar Falls thinking Jeff would see my car and join us. After shooting the main falls and meeting this nice fella running a workshop who offered any assistance if we needed it, Adam and I headed over to Hidden Falls. I immediately noticed we had a sunburst opportunity over the falls. This was the first time I had ever attempted to shoot a sunburst and a waterfall. The real challenge here is making the darks and the lights work together to make a tonally appealing image. I am mostly satisfied with this this version of the photo, but there is something about the waterfall itself I wish I could nail down. Definitely a learning experience and one that I do not think I am finished with. I have a feeling another version of this photo will make an appearance later in the year when I have some time to work with it again, but for now I thought I would share the beautiful scene Adam and I got to enjoy while sadly Jeff waited for us in another lot. A short time later we would find each other travelling between the different lots we were parked in. Hocking Hills needs cell service!
