Tallulah Gorge State Park
Georgia

Completed in 1913, the Tallulah Gorge Dam not only greatly restricted the flow of water down the Tallulah River but also severely impacted the 5 falls along the river. At the top of the dam rests several gates that during certain times of the year are opened giving guests at the State Park an idea of what the falls looked like 100 years ago when there was no dam. The bridge above is US 441, which also travels across The Great Smokey Mountains National Park about and hour and a half away, give or take.
