UnNamed Falls
Sharon Creek
Sharon Woods
Hamilton County Park
Sharonville, Ohio

Last Friday I was surprised by a text from my good friend and Static Brother Jeremy Chapman that he would be in the Cincinnati area over the weekend and wanted to know about some local falls to shoot. So I told him that if I was feeling up to it I would see about us meeting up and doing some shooting as I was deep in the grips of what was hands down the worst cold I've ever had. So Saturday around noon I started dopplar watching since we were in our 7th straight day of rain, and figured I would suck it up and asked him meet me near Sharon Woods in Sharonville, Ohio around 3 pm. Being a little late and taking the short drive into the park gave the rain enough time to move on out. For the last 10 years I've been shooting I've rarely paid attention to the two man made waterfalls on Sharon Creek, but today since I had someone who'd never been to the park I figured I'd show them to him and I'm glad did. After spending some time at the lowermost falls we walked up to the bridge just upstream to have a look at the uppermost and boy was it flowing! I had never shot from the bridge before, although I've seen many photos, and decided to take a few for the hell of it. Then Jeremy noticed a blue heron fishing near the right side of the creek and I just couldn't resist getting a few shots of the bird in the scene as it stood there stoically watching us. He didn't sit still long but that was ok, it worked out fine. It turned out to be an awesome evening shooting falls, hitting the Carew Tower Observation Deck in the fog, shooting the Roebling Suspension Bridge and dinner at Arnold's Bar and Grill! Jeremy got a crash course in Cincinnati scenery that's for sure, definitely a great time with a great friend!
