Lower Tier
Triple Falls
Little River
DuPont State Forest
North Carolina

Triple Falls is one of those falls that when you first lay eyes on the whole thing you are simply awestruck. Standing at the overlook on the Triple Falls Trail you see the river tumble 180 ft over 3 distinct drops, it gives you the impression it's twice as large as it really is. Once you make your way down to the falls and you visit each tier you realize it's not as big as you thought, but it's still impressive. Of the three tiers my favorite is the lower, it has the greatest personality and offers numerous isolation opportunities. This is the the foot of the approximately 60 ft. tall tier, which also happens to be my favorite section to shoot. I love how the water races in from the right then doglegs over a small ledge creating this beautiful uniform flow. On a cloudy day you could spend hours here, heck on a sunny day we spent a couple at this spot before the sun finally ran us off.
