It's amazing how much an event in your life can dramatically change your life style. Although worth it, I no longer have time to play around on the computer or take very many photographs. All that will change in time and here's the story as to why.
While hiking in Laural Gorge in Eastern Kentucky three Sundays ago we were found by this adorable little puppy at of all places Dog Falls. We had to park at the entrance gate of the gorge and walk up the driveway past the visitors center as we did I heard this "yipe" which sounded like it was above us and I didn't pay it any mind really. As we began walking the trail the boardwalks were covered in snow and all over there were little paw prints but it was evident that no one had been back there for some time, again I didn't pay it much mind. About a 1/2 mile in we heard the "yipe" again, this time it sounded far away and in front of us. Our intention was to get to the watershed of Dog Falls and creek walk it to the base, as we approached the creek we heard this "Yipe! Yipe! Yipe!" and barreling down the trail came this adorable little puppy, crying and wagging her tail. We petted her a little bit and decided to start up the creek, she followed, under foot. We made to where we could see the falls, puppy in tow, and chose not to shoot it since there was a lot less waterflow than we had anticipated, so back down the creek we went. The puppy followed us back to the trail (needing a little help crossing the creek where it met the path). I knew at this point I would be taking her home with me. So she followed us out of the gorge and walked all the way to the car and we tossed her in (there was no way we were going to leave her next to a busy road) and she spent the rest of the day waterfalling with us. So allow me to introduce you to my newest family member Maggie Mae and her favorite chew toy, my hand.
