Norwegian forests remind me of the German forests of my childhood: lush, green, wet and rich in different mosses, trees, and ferns. Unfortunately, in my region, forests are mostly dry nowadays, orange and dead. It was quite magical to step into this Norwegian fairytale close to Bergen and experience nature at its best.

Sometimes, you just got to be lucky. Those sun rays were only visible for 3 minutes before the angle of the sun and the rocks wasn't optimal anymore. And five minutes after that, the fog had moved in completely and I was standing in a soup of whiteness 😂

One hour of an exhausting hike (rushing to get the best light) but totally worth it. This scene was really hard to compose, though: lots of empty space with no interest until I went down low and put these red flowers/shrubs into the foreground.

Magical sunrise at Lago di Braies in the Italian Dolomites. Getting away from the normal Instagram photo spot, which is overrun by photographers and Instagram models will offer you many other beautiful views which are worth capturing. And it's much quieter there, too ;)

I had to try for several years to get this shot: low morning clouds drifting through the Elbe river valley beneath the Lilienstein in the Sächsische Schweiz national park. But this photo alone was worth all the early mornings, treks in the pitch black, and freezing on top of an open plateau :) Stitched from 20 individual vertical shots in Lightroom, this panorama shows the breathtaking beauty of the fog twisting its way through a forest below our vantage point.
