Nugget Point Lighthouse, New Zealand

On the first day we landed on south island of New Zealand, we rent a car and drove to Nugget Point Lighthouse right way. It took us about 6 hours to get there. Unfortunately when we got there, it was little bit late for shooting sunset. So, we just find a camera spot and prepared for night shooting. According to the plan, milky way center would come out around 9:00 pm and it would be in a perfect position to align with the lighthouse. So we were sitting in the car and took a little nap. When it was 8:00 pm, we got out the car and found clouds above our head. We ran to our camera spot quickly and hope we could still capture some night pictures. At the moment, the clouds was moving fast. Some time we can see milky way and some time we didn't. So, we just kept shooting until 11:00 pm. Since we also planed to drive to Takapo Lake before dawn, we had to go.

Church of the Good Shepherd, New Zealand

This is another shot I did when I visited this Church. It was merged by using three vertical shots. The building was lighted up by residents' lights near by.

Lake Tekapo is a small town located at the southern end of the lake of the same name in the South Island of New Zealand. The Church of the Good Shepherd that is situated on the shores of Lake Tekapo is one of most photographed church in New Zealand.

When we drove to there 5 am in the morning, there were some photographers doing night shots. One of them told us that there were wall of people in the early of evening shooting milky ways. We joined them and took some night shots. Then, when the sky started brighter, there were more people joined us. This is one of the shots I took in the morning. You might see thousands of the same pictures already. But this is my impression of Lake Takapo:-)
