Was fortunate to get back to the bayou before the Brown Pelicans left and for, they are always s treat because we don’t see them all year round on the bayou. They will depart soon because the alligators are becoming more active as the weather continues to warm. Photo taken on Horsepen Bayou. I might add that these are not mature.

It’s always great when these old fallen trees that wash out of the bayou get lodged in the silty bottom at the mouth of Horsepen Bayou. These weathered limbs provide a nice resting place for birds to preen. Brown Pelicans preening on the bayou. There is only one mature one in the bunch and you’ll be able to pick that one out very easily. The turtles were not preening. Photo taken in hard light.

These large characters can go from stop to start in a heartbeat. A young Brown Pelican searching for food on Horsepen Bayou. Not as scary as an alligator unless you’re a fish.

So, Pelican #2 says to Pelican #3…I’m telling you it’s that clown in the canoe headed this way. Don’t pay any attention to him and it’ll go away. One mature Brown Pelican and three younger ones perched on this old tree washed up in the mouth of Horsepen Bayou. Tried to leave a bit more of the background in this scene for everyone.

My apologies to everyone. I had hoped to get to everyone’s photos today but have been too busy. I have decided to take some time away from Flickr and relax a bit and see what is out and about. Never know what you might see if you look hard enough.

I also want to thank everyone for hanging on and commenting while I was having my medical issues. Luckily for everyone, I was finally able to get to the bayou and give everyone something a bit more recent to look at. My health is back to my baseline and my cardiologist was very pleased with my last stress test and so I am not having any issues. Georgia is doing splendidly as well and so we’ll spend some time together and do a bit of chilling and roaming the neighborhood.

Will leave everyone with this relic which has become a landmark on the bayou. It’s not going to last forever and will someday crumple into the murky water and disappear. It’s always great to find these friendly Brown Pelicans gracing its withered branches and decorating the tree. Let’s hope it remains strong.

Wishing everyone a lovely week ahead and hope to be back online after my break. Warmest regards to all my Flickr friends.

Peace
