At least I think they enjoyed it! Not a spectacular end to the day, but some parts of the clouds lit up rather nicely. Looked like red popcorn stuck to the underside of the clouds. Photo taken at El Franco Lee Park.

There were times last year where the sun could not set without putting on a grand display, but we have had precious few days of sunshine this year and this was merely its passing at the end of the day. The sun actually went down about 30 degrees to the left of the scene and was not visible when it set. These were the colors that remained in the sky as the day ended. Even thought the sun has been blocked by all of the cloudy days that we have had the temperatures still remain mild and comfortable. We might get to see it next week.

Just want to add that our thoughts and prayers go out to our friends in New Zealand. Let’s hope that the situation can be taken care of and that it can come to a peaceful ending. Violence never ends anything.

Violence begets violence!!!

Enough with the green skies and my hairbrained green ideas and I hope that everyone had a laugh, because that was all that it was meant for. That sky was not a part of this sequence that plaid out this past Friday. When I arrived at El. Franco Lee Park the sky lit up quite nicely and I had hoped that the sun would bet under the clouds in the second scene and light them up, but it just didn’t happen. There were some interesting textures and such in the sky and it would have been interesting. I was very pleased with the first shot where the golden tones came out nicely along with the pink shades in the high clouds, but it all faded to gray as shown in the second shot. It was fun watching it unfold even though the northern lights as seen in the western skies of Texas didn’t materialize. Both of these captures were taken before that final scene that I posted last week.

I would ask everyone to read the entire narrative.
The photo holds nothing special and was taken last night at El Franco Lee Park.

I just want to let everyone know that I will be having eye surgery tomorrow. It needs to be done because my vision has deteriorated dramatically over the past 2 years. I rely solely on the focus points in the camera to get my shots because I’ve not seen clearly in quite some time. I know that there are some minor risks with surgery, but that’s not an issue at present and I can no longer continue to function like this.

The surgery should have been done long ago, but the pacemaker implant and the radiation therapy put all of that on hold. So, the time has come, and I am looking forward to being able to “really” spot those birds off in the distance without relying on my camera to root them out of the reeds and branches.

I no longer see things clearly on my monitor and it takes me time to scan a photo and see the finer points. It’s a narrow field of vision at present and I’m hoping that all will be corrected with the new lenses. The right eye will be done tomorrow morning, and I am hoping that two weeks later the left eye can be taken care of. Only time will tell how well all of this will work out.

Want to wish everyone a wonderful remainder of the week and I hope to be back and commenting soon. If I hear anything about Taylor, I will be sure to let everyone know. Peace.
