Another tour of Brazos Bend State Park! There are several lakes included in the park and they are connected with trails and most have a walkway around the perimeter! It’s not uncommon on most days when the sun is shining to find an alligator lounging in the middle of a trail and it’s up to the individual to make a decision as to whether you walk around the alligator or retrace your footsteps. The primary view in this sequence is taken from the northeast corner of Elm Lake! The lakes are very shallow and offer a prime habitat for a large number of animals some of which are very large! Definitely worth a trip in the spring!

Trail connecting Elm Lake to 40 Acre Lake! Two years ago there was not water on either side of the trail!
