This Brown Pelican wasn’t too interested in hunting with a jade colored canoe and so he departed for some fishier water. If you know what I mean. Taken on Armand Bayou near Bay Area Park.

One of our Brown Pelican visitors perched on a tree stump that would normally be submerged during normal tide conditions but the tide was quite low this day and was hoping to be left alone. Taken where Horsepen Bayou joins Mud Lake.

Decided to mark my return with the departure of this Brown Pelican that flew by my canoe while I was on Horsepen Bayou a while back. Had a great time visiting with our family and will try to slide back in and get caught up, but know it’s going to take a while. I’ll get there eventually.

This one of the many Brown Pelicans that visit the Armand Bayou and Horsepen Bayou area over the winter months. This one was on one of his low level search and feed missions and never gained much altitude before he/she was back in the water with a pouch full of fish. Get all of that of that water strained out and then it’s down the hatch with the reward. These shots were all taken on Horsepen Bayou at very low tide.
