I posted the developing shot earlier and at one point had walked back to the car and was getting ready to put the gear away after I saw the somewhat ho hum pattern develop in the sky. At that point it looked like the colors would not develop. Hey Canoe Boy, what do you know about the clouds and the sky. I decided to give the clouds some time to develop and am so glad that I headed back out into the field to see how Scruffy was doing. I’m so glad that I stuck around as the Grand Finale was most definitely worth the wait. Patience canoe boy…patience.

Want to take this opportunity to wish everyone a most prosperous and Happy New Year. Scruffy was not able to make the scene for the is shot although he was standing close by and watched the whole thing as I recorded it on the new Christmas toy. The new Panasonic FZ-200 worked quite well and although it doesn’t have the resolution of the large cameras (didn’t expect it to) it will allow me to carry it around in more situations. Will be back to comment on everyone’s photos later, but wanted to wish everyone all the best in the coming year. Hope you and yours had a great 2013. This was the sunrise on the day that I captured the Pelicans off in the distance. It was fairly monochromatic and so had to play a bit with the mist and some silhouettes. Photo was taken near the boardwalk at Bay Area Park and a part of Armand Bayou. I couldn’t get the Egret to stick around. One view looking East toward the sunrise and one looking toward the South.
