Geez!!! Lucy, you're embarrassing me. If you don't stop dancing and showing off that guy in the canoe with the camera is NEVER going to leave. Actually, she had just finished scratching and was somewhat extended for this capture. Taken on Armand Bayou.

This Brown Pelican launched very quickly from its perch, but was lucky to grab a quick departing shot. Taken on Armand Bayou.

They will perch just about anywhere and I caught this Brown Pelican on an old stump sticking out of the water on Armand Bayou near Bay Area Park. At rest but still keeping a wary eye out ol' canoe boy to make sure he doesn't get too close.

The Brown Pelicans have departed the bayou and moved on. I guess they don't have to deal with the large lizards that are not as active during the winder months. Not sure if the activity of the alligators has anything to do with it. This Brown was perched on one of the old tree roots that lay just under the water near the boardwalk at Bay Area Park.
