It’s always great when these old fallen trees that wash out of the bayou get lodged in the silty bottom at the mouth of Horsepen Bayou. These weathered limbs provide a nice resting place for birds to preen. Brown Pelicans preening on the bayou. There is only one mature one in the bunch and you’ll be able to pick that one out very easily. The turtles were not preening. Photo taken in hard light.
