Not a Copper Head, but a Diamond Back. Not a rattle snake, but a water snake. Non-venomous.

probably Anolis sagrei, the "brown anole". They took over from our native green ale, Anolis carolinensis, for a while. The greens have been dominant here for a year, but maybe the tide is turning again.

Our native Green Anoles, Anolis carolinensis,
are "new-world chameleons", changing color to match their surroundings. Normally lime-green, this one was as brown as I've ever seen one. Not to be confused with the invasive Brown Anole, which is also common hereabouts these days. In both, males occasionally stretch out the throat to attract attention.

Anolis sagrei
on my back fence. Not usually so much pattern as this one.
Greens are native, browns invasive.
