Tillandsia usneoides, Cullinan Park, Sugar Land TX
Trichonephila clavipes
(Golden Silk Orb-weaver), at Cullinan Park in Sugar Land. Dorsal & ventral views in consecutive photos. This one is missing both forelegs, as can be seen in the ventral view. Never had seen such a thing before, but I saw it again a week later at another location, with a 7-legged member of the same species, as shown in the previous photos. Can any of you experts comment on how this happens?

Look closely and you can see two or more of the legs threading out spider silk.
Argiope aurantia, the Black & Yellow Garden Spider. The web is a few feet above White Lake, in Cullinan Park, Sugar Land, TX. Might well be another view of an individual I’ve posted previously.

Continuing to get out and shoot more than once a week. These are my favorites for week 42.
