As Tropical Storm Ophelia approached the coast of North Carolina, this paddle boarder saw the high hazard flag go up and knew it was time to catch some good surf!

Of course a tropical storm hits the beach town I was vacationing at as we returned to the beach for the first time in 7 years to vacation. We still had an amazing time despite spending our last day inside.

This picture was taken from the balcony of our rented beach house that was able to see the Bogue Inlet Pier perfectly with a telephoto lens. 12 hours after this shot, I was awoken by the house shaking from Tropical Storm Ophelia which came ashore 3 miles NE of us. After witnessing the raw power of a Tropical Storm, I can't imagine what a Cat 2 or above hurricane would have felt like...
