Dubrovnik is according to many one of the most beautiful cities on the Adriatic coast. This city in Croatia is also called the
Pearl of the Adriatic. The historic center, or rather the completely walled fortress city of Dubrovnik, is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage. This part is still in a remarkably good condition. A wonderful place to discover on foot, it is a city with a diverse, but also rough past. Remarkably, the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque churches, as well as the various monasteries, palaces and fountains have been preserved. They all tell their own story from the Middle Ages.
Dubrovnik is a city on the Adriatic Sea in southern Croatia. It is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Mediterranean Sea. The history of the city probably dates back to the 7th century. The city is completely surrounded by defensive walls and fortresses, including the old port. The walls are uninterrupted about 2 km long and reach a maximum height of about 25 meters. They were built throughout history at a time when there was a danger of foreign attacks on the city and the Dubrovnik Republic. Its history goes back to the Middle Ages. The best time to visit the Walls of Dubrovnik is early in the morning or later in the afternoon close to closing hours since there are no crowds and you can really enjoy it. De stad Dubrovnik is volledig omgeven door
verdedigingsmuren en forten, waaronder de oude haven. De muren zijn ononderbroken zo'n 2km lang en bereiken een maximale hoogte van ongeveer 25 meter. Ze werden door de geschiedenis heen gebouwd in tijden dat er gevaar bestond voor buitenlandse aanvallen op de stad en de Republiek Dubrovnik. De geschiedenis gaat terug tot in de middeleeuwen. De beste tijd om de
stadsmuren van Dubrovnik te bezoeken is 's ochtends vroeg of later in de middag, dicht bij sluitingstijd, aangezien er geen drukte is en u er echt van kunt genieten! De smalle straatjes, steegjes en muren van de historische stad Dubrovnik zijn gevuld met het dagelijkse leven en de was van haar inwoners.
