While driving a Perth County backroad, a thin, remarkably uniform layer of fog hanging over a distant field grabbed my attention. Remarkable as it was, making an interesting photo of it meant finding a suitable foreground. A cemetery and churchyard sudden presented themselves and from there I found the unexpected. The flock of leghorns out in the field and the pyramidal cultivars, while all perfectly explainable and perhaps even rather prosaic, struck me as an odd twist. These elements, together with the dash of colour due to the recent application of liquid manure, combined to make what is to my eye at least, a pleasing composition.
