The Saarpolygon in Ensdorf is a steel sculpture and a monument in memory of the hard coal mining in the Saar region, which finally ended in June 2012 (Source: Wikipedia).
The observation tower stands on a mining waste dump and, with an area of almost 50 hectares and a height of 150 meters, is one of the largest of its kind.
