The winter of 2017, on the eve of Valentine's day, Halifax received over one meter of snowfall. In the morning, I went to explore the aftermath.
The trip to the Citadel took twice the time of a normal day. The hill was all covered in white. Desolate and lifeless, quiet except the howling of winds. It felt like Antarctica, or the surface of another world, a frozen one.
On my way down, I saw these two folks walking on snow towards the clocktower, all geared up for skiing. The scene was almost unreal, a mixture of the cold and ruthless nature, and the creations of human.
