Okay, there are a few things I don't understand about this day.
Why are we taking pictures so late? The sun's almost gone, it's clear from the photos I still have we ran out of daylight and had to retreat to my apartment, where I struggled for inspiration until figuring out that my bathroom floor (oh god, I'm so sorry, Alex) was an interesting backdrop.
Even more confusing...she's wearing my t-shirt! A band shirt I bought and immediately realized was too small for me...was it my idea? Was what she was wearing before so revolting?
All I know is...good idea! That shirt works for the photos! I'm a genius!!!!! So brilliant I am a mystery to myself!!!

I didn’t expect Allie to get such a kick out of using a fog machine, out of pointing it right at her face and letting ‘er rip…but she did! She loved it! And she was right to love it, the photos were hilarious!
Pro-tip: buy a cheap special effect and let your subject have their way with it, always works out.

About once a month, Corey and I will meet over burgers, catch up, complain about the world.
Last few times, I've been committed to getting a real good picture of him...but the last few times have Also been marred by either menacing clouds or menacing rain, so for this one, I was left to get him good and giggling in my car.
Wanted the great colors we get with a bright blue LA day full of sun, but had to settle for the great smile Corey beams when he's good and entertained.
A fair trade.

I’m at a photo meet-up, I’ve just taken a rather maudlin picture of someone, and they like it, they say it’s somehow reflected where they are, how they’ve been feeling, of late.
I can’t say as I do it intentionally, I’m not waiting for the moment when someone’s grief washes across their face…
What I am waiting for is the moment the mask drops, and maybe that’s not a dissimilar thing.
