And I would ask; which end is the front-end ? They look very similar to me, but I guess it's the head which looks under the twig? Sorry, but I have no idea what kind of species? It's approximately 20mm (4/5 ") long. I may be a Pieris rapae perhaps?

Let's hope it won't eat up our small willow ;) Sorry, but I have no idea what kind of species? It's approximately 20mm (4/5 ") long. It may be a Pieris rapae perhaps?

A rather disgusting larva but I guess this will be a beautiful butterfly some day. I have no idea what kind however. I just hope it'll survive as it was attacked by some ants in the grass - I rescued it and put it up on a small plant far away from the ants.

I'm not sure but I think it's a Pine weevil "Hylobius abetis" ? It's really VERY ugly ;) But rather beautiful suit of armour - looks like some mix of copper, gold and bronze.
Suddenly it sat on the armrest to the chair side of mine when I sat in the garden - can these bugs fly? View Large On Black
