I am pretty sure this is a Carolina Wren. I have been very busy and have been very absent on flickr. I have had to do a lot of travelling for work and also took a cruise in the Caribbean with my wife and some extended family. This bird was seen in Georgia recently.

This cute eastern box turtle was seen recently on an early morning hike before work. I feel most successful photographing these animals when they are comfortable enough with me that they don't hide in their shells. This was exactly as found. It has been probably 31 years since I have seen one of these turtles so I was glad to find a couple of them last week in Georgia.

I was very happy to see my first Barred owl late one night in Georgia a couple of weeks ago. I was driving down a road out in the middle of some forest hoping to see a snake crossing the road and decided to shine my flashlight into the trees off the drivers side as I slowly went down the country road. When my flashlight shown on this beautiful owl I knew immediately what it was. I got to watch it hunting for some time and calling to another owl in the distance. I was trying out a new camera and had some trouble getting the flash to expose properly at first. I also tried to get some video of its strange call but it didn't turn out. So this was the best shot I came away with. I also got to see my first armadillo when I got out of the car to look for where the owl flew off to. Unfortunately I didn't get any pics of that cute little animal or any of the other 5 I would see that night.
