Just image to live in isolation year after year.
The last lighthouse keeper spent 24 years virtually in isolation doing his job on Kjeungskjoer located off the rough Norwegian coast.
This brave man had his wife and his two children with him, and a nanny to teach and keep an eye on the kids.
They even had a swing installed to their enjoyment, thus swinging across rocks and ocean waves.
20.6 metres high, built in 1880 the historic lighthouse became automated in 1987, ultimately the
lighthouse keeper lost his job.

La montagne des Mémises est une montagne de Haute-Savoie, dans le massif du Chablais, à proximité de la frontière franco-suisse, qui culmine à 1 674 mètres d'altitude. Elle domine Évian-les-Bains, Thollon-les-Mémises et offre une vue panoramique sur le lac Léman du massif du Jura aux Alpes franco-suisses.

The Mémises mountain is a mountain in Haute-Savoie, in the Chablais massif, near the French-Swiss border, which culminates at 1 674 meters of altitude. It dominates Evian-les-Bains, Thollon-les-Mémises and offers a panoramic view of Lake Geneva from the Jura massif to the French-Swiss Alps.
