I have been wanting to come to his magical place for years. Our journey today was a bit weird in terms of the weather. We pretty much had escaped the bad weather in Southern Colorado after we checked out from our hotel in Durango. When we arrived at Mesa Verde, we met with light snow. By the time, we got to the Four Corner Monument, a strong wind had picked up. We pressed on to Shiprock and the wind was even strong along the highway. However, once we reached the tail fins of Shiprock, the sky opened up and the wind completely died down. That's why I think this place is truly magical.

We stopped by the Rio Grande Gorge bridge today and hiked to this spot for the full view of the bridge. It's really breathtaking. I think this is a must stop when you come to Taos, NM.

Today we left Santa Fe and headed to Taos. Our first stop was San Francisco De Asis. This was the mission church where Ansel Adams had taken one of his famous photos in the American Southwest. For a brief moment, I had the courtyard all to myself!

We just couldn't miss Roswell when we drove up from Carlsbad to Santa Fe. We spotted a young lady in her Burning Man outfit trying to take her Instagram photo with the flying saucer mural. Compared to 20 years ago, this town is actually more lively these days.
